The GPS signal receiver can not only continuously measure the current coordinates of the UAV, but also can start work regularly to correct the inertial navigation system. The drone still needs to know its geographic coordinates to return to the base after obtaining intelligence. UAV precision bombing and launching air-to-ground missiles also need to accurately determine their current position relative to the target, and inertial navigation systems cannot provide the required accuracy of positioning data.
