????Light-emitting diode (LED) positioning is the way most optoelectronic mice are positioned, which is the way electric eyes work. A light-emitting diode inside the mouse illuminates the bottom surface of the mouse (which is why the bottom of the mouse always glows). Then, part of the light reflected back from the bottom surface of the photoelectric mouse is transmitted to a photosensing device (microimager) for imaging through a set of optical lenses. In this way, when the photoelectric mouse moves, its trajectory will be recorded as a series of high-speed images. Finally, a special image analysis chip (DSP) inside the photoelectric mouse is used to analyze and process a series of images captured on the moving track. By analyzing the changes of the position of feature points on these images, the mouse's moving direction and moving distance are judged, so as to complete the cursor positioning.

????Laser positioning is also a positioning method of photoelectric mouse, which is characterized by the use of laser to replace the ordinary light emitted by light-emitting diodes. Laser is the electron excitation of light, compared with ordinary light has a high monochromatism and straightness, used for positioning laser is mainly invisible light. The reflectance of ordinary light on different color surfaces is not consistent, which leads to the "color blindness" problem that DSP cannot recognize the photoelectric mouse on some color surfaces due to low light reflectance. In addition, ordinary light can not be used on transparent and other material surfaces, or produce pulsations. The mouse with laser positioning can effectively solve these problems because the laser can better identify the surface situation with a single wavelength and greatly improve the sensitivity.

????Raster POSITIONING IS PRIMARILY THE METHOD USED BY MECHANICAL MICE, BUT SINCE THE PURELY MECHANICAL MOUSE HAS DISAPPEARED, THE MECHANICAL MOUSE HERE ACTUALLY MEANS THE OPTICAL-MECHANICAL MOUSE. When the mouse moves, it drives the rubber ball to roll, and the rubber ball rolls and frictions the grid wheel roller in the horizontal and vertical directions of the mouse, which drives the grid wheel to rotate. The wheel edge of the grid wheel is a grid shape, close to both sides of the grid, one side is an infrared luminescent tube, the other side is the infrared receiving component. The movement of the mouse is converted to the rotation of the horizontal and vertical grid wheel in different directions and speeds. When the grid wheel is rotating, the tooth of the grid wheel periodically shields the infrared light emitted by the infrared light emitting tube, irradiates to the horizontal and vertical infrared receiving components, and generates pulses. The control chip in the mouse determines the rotation direction of the horizontal or vertical grid wheel through the phase difference of the two pulses, and the rotation speed of the grid wheel through the frequency of the pulses, and continuously transmits the mouse movement information to the host through the data line, and the host makes the cursor on the screen move synchronously with the mouse through processing.
